Subject: Vintage Mic Question - Sanken
Hey there,
Here's what's printed on the name plate:
Dynamic Microphone, Type: ms 1, 10K, No: 3753, 1960-9
Sanken Products, Tokyo Japan
Does anyone know anything about these? I tried some web searches but
couldn't find anything at all on them.
Thanks!
Rob

While you're at it here are a couple more like that, I'd like to know more
about too:
* "Sonotone CM-10A" - flared wand with brass mesh grill, hard wired to 10'
lead with 1/4" TR phone jack. Very hot, sounds similar to MC151 crystal
bullet element when cupped.

*  TOWAY(r) Dynamic Microphone - Impedance 600ohm
UDM-303 with on/off switch, 3 pin jack - gold ball and black stick-
relatively clean and comparable to the cheap (Korian) LEEM vocal microphone
except lacking the top end.

I'm guessing theres a bunch of different (possibly discontinued) obscure
asian brands & their models, and nobody really cares enough about them to
actually put anything on the web about them - at least not in a readily
accessable way.

If it sounds good, hang on to it, it could be as rare as hen's teeth, if it
doesn't sound good, you probably couldn't give it away without a fuss. :)
